IAS Holland code: meaning & careers
IAS is a common three-letter Holland code: Investigative first, then Artistic, then Social. It often points to roles that mix analysis, creative expression, and people impact—not pure sales or pure routine admin.
What IAS means
I — Investigative: research, diagnosis, data, ideas, figuring out how things work.
A — Artistic: design, writing, media, original concepts, less rigid scripts.
S — Social: teaching, helping, coaching, facilitating others’ growth.
Order matters: IAS is not the same as SAI or ASI. With I first, problem-solving and content depth usually matter more than being “on stage” all day.
