TypeAxis does not invent a private scoring science. We implement public, widely used standards and document them here.
Big Five (IPIP)
Personality items are from the public International Personality Item Pool (IPIP-50 Markers). Scoring follows official IPIP instructions: keyed +/− items, sum by domain, display scaled 0–100.
Holland RIASEC interests
Interest items follow the Holland RIASEC structure used by O*NET Interest Profiler tools. Dimension scores use Like / Neutral / Dislike (1–3). High-point codes use a fixed tie-break order: I > A > S > E > C > R.
Career matching (O*NET)
Occupations and interest profiles come from the O*NET database Career Interest Types. Primary ranking uses cosine similarity between your RIASEC profile and each occupation's official interest vector. Work Style Profile
Shareable TypeAxis labels derived from Big Five patterns. They are not MBTI® types and do not replace interest-based career ranking.
